bad girls go to hell

It was so cold today but seeing as it's the 1st of December it is allowed to be I guess. I had to take my coat off to take the pictures below and my toes felt like they had solidified into ice cubes and could have been cut off without it hurting at all. I got dressed this morning with Luella and Meadham Kirchhoff in mind. To start with kind of subconsciously because I was looking at their collections last night but then I was down to deciding between three skirts and it sort of clicked and I continued to get dressed with a particular kind of image in my mind.

If you follow my instagram I posted a picture of these boots after I painted them during the week. It's inspired by this sweater and some boots I saw on Ebay last month but didn't win the bid on. I printed off the silhouette of a witch then cut it out, cellotaped it to the boot then painted with white acrylic. I also made some star and moon stencils because after I did the witches, the rest of the boots looked quite plain. My stockings (moon and star ones) are Mary Quant from Ebay, again, and the white bow tights underneath are from New Look years ago. I bullied Amber into taking these pictures. I quote "YOU ARE SO ANNOYING".

My 70s glam rock lurex shirt from Ebay arrived this week. It was £8. Brooch from a vintage shop and the white top is from Etsy.

We cycled through this estate near my primary school earlier and I took this picture because it intrigued me in the way that it's quite stale looking. The whole street was the same. Like, there is no frilly accessories or things that had been added to make the house more attractive. It could  have almost been a  model for the average British suburban house because it's so samey it was verging on being creepy. Most houses in the town where I live look like this.

I wanted to wear this school girl skirt because it reminds me of going to school in a convent. I only wore blacks and whites down to the black ribbon in my hair, with the exception of my brown boots. My parents said I look like a prostitute because the tops of my stockings was slightly visible.

Meadham Kirchhoff Autumn/Winter 2011 was an inspiration for what I wore (also dream jumper on the second to left there). It played on the Riot Grrrl movement and it also speaks to me as 'designer convent school uniform'. The pinafores, Victorian blouses and crucifixes along with the laced shoes and bloomers. And the fact it's all pretty much black and white.

Luella Autumn/Winter 2008. This seems like the same kind of aesthetic, but with a more country-fied aspect? The pumpkin coloured gingham is more halloween-y, and the witch hat and crimped hair ties in with that.

Luella and Meadham Kirchhoff are two of my favourite designers, and while I'm here I thought I'd show you what I've done of my zine so far. It goes well with all this.

I did three pages of it in June then lost it but found it again in a pile of school work. There's now 5 pages of it  so here are 4 of them because the other page is a lonesome on one the middle.

The cover. The witches on the left are the same ones I used as a stencil to paint my boots.

It's always really awkward to end a post. I guess, bye but I'm now going out to an American Diner for a friend's birthday. TTFN.
